In episode 176 of “Have Guitar Will Travel”, presented by Vintage Guitar Magazine, host James Patrick Regan speaks with guitarists Scott Sharrard and Fred Tackett from Little Feat. The conversation begins with Fred from Southern California and Scott joins after a few minutes in from Harlem, NYC. Fred tells us about Little Feat’s new album “Strike Up The Band” and why a new album now. Fred discusses his association with Little Feat early on while he was working with songwriter Jimmy Webb. Scott then describes his association with Little Feat early on while he was playing with Gregg Allman. They both discuss the gear they used on the new album and the gear they’ll be using on the road for the tour that just started. Fred talks about playing with Eric Clapton recently and the friendship Eric has with the band. Fred tells us about tour life for Little Feat and Scott tells us about the responsibility of playing in bands with such legendary guitarists before him. Scott tells us about going to school at the Milwaukee high school for the arts and how that shaped his musical experience. Fred describes how he got from Arkansas to Hawaii and then LA and they both tell us about their side projects.
